Meet Morten

Morten Krogh Jensen The auditor who loves to ski

Who am I?

I am a qualified auditor, and also owned my own company for several years, working on the planning, development and financing of wind turbine acquisition in Germany. Then I was diagnosed with cancer, and that changed my life. I decided that I didn’t want to work eighty hours a week anymore – I wanted a traditional nine-to-five-type job, where I could spend more time with my family.

How do I make a difference?

I’m an IT/software development manager, and my role has grown in tandem with Eurowind. I spend a lot of my time planning and managing IT development projects. In other words, I work on creating systems and automating processes that Eurowind can benefit from. Before this, I was the go-to guy for many of our controllers, helping them create systems for their tasks. Our growth has required a smoother, smarter and more automated process – which, for example, makes the transfer of useful information from one department to another much easier.

I am highly motivated by the Eurowind mentality. The company has helped me grow.

I have been a part of Eurowind Energy since 2010, and what I do has evolved over time. At the beginning, I helped the country manager to find suitable locations in Denmark. I also assisted the German market with information gained from my previous work in Germany. But things changed, and I started looking into how we could develop a new budgeting system that would suit us better, so I taught myself how to code. I have always had an interest in computers, but I saw the chance to develop my skills even further within this area, simply because it would be the smartest solution for Eurowind.

What drives me?

I am highly motivated by the Eurowind mentality. The company has helped me grow. I like taking a wider perspective in order to develop better and smarter processes. But I wouldn’t have been a part of the family for so many years if it didn’t include such amazing people. Eurowind really feels like my second family. I think I was employee number 25 or thereabouts, and we came to know each other very deeply. For example, I set up our company skiing holiday, which has just kept growing. I truly appreciate how we have got to know each other so much better on these holidays and at our social events. I would, without hesitation, advise my new potential colleagues to join us on the trip or at least participate in our social events. Building our relationships makes every day better.

Fun fact: Besides being a qualified auditor, which I don’t think many of my newer colleagues know, I think of myself as a bit of a nerd on many topics: for example, I like to build my own speakers. I am eager to know all about processes as well as results. Making things myself comes naturally to me.
