Meet Henriette

Henriette Koch Høgh The controller who’s captain of her ship

Who am I?

I graduated with a degree in Financial Economics in 2005. I also have a graduate diploma in Business Administration which I obtained while working full-time at Eurowind Energy. Before this, I spent many years at another similar company in Thisted. When that company unfortunately went out of business, I reached out to Eurowind. I have been here since January 2013, and I am still grateful that I get to work in this field every day, particularly at a company like Eurowind, where we’re constantly developing and striving to discover renewable energy sources that will continue to work well in the future.

How do I make a difference?

I am a controller and work with the accounts of Eurowind Energy A/S. I help handle the transfer of funds when we make new acquisitions. I obtain purchase documentation and other financial information from the entities we buy from. I also help start up company operations in new countries. I helped set up the accounts in the local offices in the United Kingdom and Finland. My job has many different aspects, and I appreciate that every day brings new tasks and challenges. I am a person who works best with systems, and the chance to help set up a well-organised corporate finance system is something I truly value.

We have such a great combination of routine tasks and development tasks, so there is something for everyone.

What drives me?

One of the things I really like about working here is that you are never on your own with anything. There are people around who you can talk to if you need help. In our department, we have Monday meetings where we talk about the week, and whether anyone is too busy or needs help with anything. We try to build an atmosphere where there’s no such thing as a stupid question. My colleagues are truly amazing. They are the people who make you want to get up and go to work.

Eurowind is also a company where there is plenty of room to be challenged, if you want to be. We have such a great combination of routine tasks and development tasks, so there is something for everyone. Eurowind is also great at getting the team together. We have ‘Company Days’, where they invite employees from all the different offices in the world to meet up. It means a lot to meet your international team members in real life. There are other social events, too, where there is room for fun and laughter, and you don’t have to talk shop all the time. That’s something I value a lot.

Fun fact: My husband and I have our own sailing boat, so I often go sailing when I’m not at work. When I was young, I sailed on the “Denmark” training ship and I was up on the masts back then.
