Meet Claus

Claus Just Pedersen Our project-managing farmer

Who am I?

I was a farmer and I have worked on my own farm for more than 15 years. For many years, I have had land-leasing contracts with Eurowind on wind turbines and solar power projects on my property. So, I already knew about the company from back then. This turned out to be useful when I decided that it was time for new challenges. I wanted to be in contact with the agricultural sector from another perspective, so I applied for a job at Eurowind as a Project Manager in the Danish Development Department, and have now been a part of the company since November 2020.

How do I make a difference?

As a Project Manager in the Danish Development Department, I establish the first contact with farmers who might be interested in having wind turbines and/or solar power on their property. My job is to initiate contact and make the land-leasing contracts on the specific area. I then, of course, continue the work that follows with neighbours and others involved. You get very close to people because there are a lot of feelings involved when it comes to farming. I often use my own background as a farmer as a way to connect and to make sure they feel safe, because I actually know how they feel. I like that we in Eurowind do business on some kind of personal level, because these projects are not only important to us, but also for them. And the fact that I can get out and meet “old colleagues” within the agricultural business and negotiate on things I know something about is great to me.

I think it is great that there is this common pioneering spirit, which the company is built upon. And I can really feel that many take this to heart.

What drives me?

The colleagues, the unity and the spirit in the office is really a big motivation in itself. I think it is great that there is this common pioneering spirit, which the company is built upon. And I can really feel that many take this to heart. It is not just a job. And I think that really shines through every day. There is a lot of room to immerse yourself in your tasks, but there is also room to have a laugh across the desks. There is a good work environment here. It is not at all “stiff”. There is room for your own ideas and a kind tone amongst everyone.

We are also a private company, so we are spoilt. It is clear during holidays, birthdays or when we get an approval of a new project, that they celebrate by doing a little extra. You really remember that. The management knows they are not better than their employees. So, we are feeling great. There is room to be yourself, and that is also important to know, if you are new. Just be yourself and then you will slowly be a part of the community.

Funfact: Even though I don’t do farming anymore, I still spend a lot of my free time on my farm. But we still have some cattle and we’ve rented out the stables for animals in quarantine. I am a family man. I have two energetic boys, and I follow them as they chase their dreams.
