Empowering a Sustainable Future

We contribute to a sustainable and low-carbon future

At Eurowind Energy, we are committed to building a sustainable future through our clean and renewable energy solutions. As a company that has been dedicated to this cause since our foundation, we understand the vital role that the electricity sector plays in tackling the climate emergency and meeting the goal set by the Paris Agreement to keep global temperature rises well below 1.5ºC.

We wish to contribute actively and decisively to a sustainable and low-carbon future, an effort that will also drive forward social and economic development. Our core business of developing, constructing and operating renewable energy parks increases access to clean, affordable, and renewable energy which is crucial for the economic growth of nations and human welfare. Through our business, we ensure that millions of tons of CO2 are displaced every year by replacing fossil-fuel generation with renewable energy plants.

Biodiversity

At Eurowind Energy, we understand the importance of biodiversity in securing a sustainable future for our planet and the people who inhabit it. Biodiversity is key to mitigating the effects of climate change and maintaining the health and well-being of all species, including our own.

We aim to protect biodiversity in our projects, and where possible, achieve a net-positive impact on biodiversity. Our renewable energy projects are not only a contribution to climate change but also an opportunity to promote biodiversity.

We consider the impact on the surrounding biodiversity during project development.

Our solar plants have a positive impact on biodiversity, especially when they are established on former farmland. By taking farmland out of production, plant and insect diversity increases, which, in turn, attracts more wildlife to the area. Initiatives such as the planting of local flower mixes or the creation of protected areas for endangered birds further enhance biodiversity on site.

Our approach is based on the mitigation hierarchy, which means we first aim to avoid negative impacts on biodiversity, then minimize these impacts if avoidance is not possible, and finally, restore or offset the residual impacts where possible. We are dedicated to developing processes for measuring the impact of our operations on biodiversity and finding new solutions to mitigate negative impacts. Overall, this ensures that we are taking a proactive and comprehensive approach to reducing our impact on the environment while providing clean, renewable energy to communities.

We value and support local communities.

We continue to play a role in the communities where we operate.

Many employees from Eurowind Energy are involved in the democratic process regarding our projects and have a voice in the discussion on energy transition. We have a strong sense of responsibility towards the local business community, and we aim to make a positive impact for those we support, first and foremost.

We support LittleBigHelp by providing 10 children from impoverished communities in India with daily school preparation – because everyone deserves a chance at a brighter future.

“Supporting LittleBigHelp was an easy choice to make. We believe that receiving an education is a fundamental part of life that everyone is entitled to. After all, education offers the opportunity for a brighter future, not just for the individual, but also for their family and the entire community. Lisbeth and the team’s work is crucial for children living on the streets in India, and we are very proud to help with this important cause," says Jens Rasmussen, CEO of Eurowind Energy.
