Both wind and solar parks are currently under construction in Germany
Eurowind Energy is currently building nine projects in Germany, with a total capacity of 242 MW. The construction phase covers everything from the initial planning to the point where the park begins producing electricity and is connected to the grid. After that, the park is handed over to the operations department.
The largest project underway is Ohrenbach, with a capacity of 48 MW, consisting of eight Vestas V162 turbines. Due to its location in a mountainous region, Ohrenbach is one of the most technically demanding projects, requiring meticulous planning and close collaboration.
In parallel, Eurowind Energy is also developing a 34 MW photovoltaic project in Stüdenitz.
The portfolio in Germany includes both internally developed projects and acquisitions at various stages of development. Additionally, Eurowind Energy is engaged in repowering projects, where older turbines are replaced with newer, more efficient models.
Eurowind Energy often develops in collaboration with other developers and sees great potential in partnering with all types of actors, including smaller players.
David Stahl, Country Manager for Germany, states: “We are seeing strong activity in Germany, and the market is developing satisfactorily for us. Our portfolio is continuously expanding, and our operations are increasing. Eurowind Energy has been present in Germany for many years, and it remains a core market for us.”
Eurowind Energy is represented in Germany by around 100 employees across six locations. In addition to the largest office in Hamburg, the company has branches in Marburg, Leipzig, Neuruppin, Rostock and Flensburg.
In total, Eurowind Energy currently has a development portfolio of just under 4 GW in Germany.
