Who am I?
I have an MA in European Studies from Aalborg University, and I first became acquainted with the business within renewable energy at my internship at Marigerfjord business council. I was employed to investigate the renewable energy potential within the municipality and to utilize this potential including that of the already established companies in this sector, such as Eurowind Energy, in order to attract new investments into renewable energy in the municipality. This internship truly kickstarted my passion for renewable energy. After finalizing my internship and master’s degree in 2011, I applied for a job as Project Assistant here at Eurowind. And I have been a part of the company since. I originally come from Poland, but I have lived in Denmark most of my life, and I went to school in Hobro. On that note, I feel like I have always known Eurowind, because it is one of the larger companies in Hobro.
Eurowind also made it possible for me, and my wife, to live and develop here in Denmark. During my studies, I went on holiday to Poland and there I met my wife, Elzbieta Dyrkacz-Szlachetka. We decided to see if this relationship was something special, and we actually managed to have a long-distance relationship for three years. But after three years, we faced a crossroads where we needed to decide if I should move back to Poland or she should come to Denmark. We decided on Denmark due to the fact that I already had a job with Eurowind, and the task was therefore to find a job for Elzbieta. Elzbieta came to Denmark without speaking the Danish language, and in order for her to have easier access to the Danish job market, it was important for her to learn the language. However, she needed a minimum of 8 hours’ employment per week in order to attend the Danish language courses. I therefore asked our CEO if it was possible for Eurowind to find some hours for her, so she could start learning Danish, and they did. She started an eight-hour weekly employment in Eurowind, as well as starting on the Danish language course. Elzbieta quickly became interested in the working tasks she did for the Technical Department as well as working in a renewable energy company. After six months, she got full-time employment as an Asset Management Assistant in the Technical Department in Eurowind and has worked in that position ever since.
