Eurowind Energy secures permits for new energy projects totaling nearly 1 GW

Eurowind Energy has secured permits for new energy projects totaling nearly 1 GW in the fiscal year 2023/24. The company has been granted permits for 29 new energy projects with several already underway in the construction phase.

Green electricity from 932 MW of renewable plants is on its way to the European electricity grid. An overview reveals that Eurowind Energy has secured permits for 29 projects across Europe in the last fiscal year. Most of these projects have a guaranteed grid connection, which is crucial for the ability to distribute power into the electricity grid for European consumers.

"I am pleased that Eurowind Energy is able to maintain its ambitions for growth in a market characterized by strong competition. For me, it is clear that our strongest asset is our experience and our ability to execute when we initiate new projects. Additionally, our profound market and industry knowledge enable us to identify projects with the greatest potential, both in terms of output and economy," said Jens Rasmussen, CEO of Eurowind Energy.

The portfolio of projects includes both solar and wind energy, with 19 solar parks and 10 wind parks. One of the most significant among these is a 237 MW solar park currently under construction in Bulgaria.

The majority of projects are located in Eurowind Energy's core markets: 11 projects are located in Poland, five in Germany and three projects are located in Romania. In Slovakia, which is one of the newer markets, it has been possible to obtain building permits for two projects for the first time. In Denmark, where Eurowind Energy has its headquarters, two permits have been obtained in Ulkær Mose, for 11 wind turbines, and Handest Hede, where the existing wind turbines will now be supplemented with solar cells in a hybrid park.

The development marks that Eurowind Energy maintains the ambition to constantly expand the portfolio of energy parks for the benefit of the green transition. Right now, Eurowind Energy has operating wind, solar and hybrid parks of more than 1.3 GW, and the new permits mean that the company will double the existing capacity within a short time horizon. In addition, there is a development portfolio of 53 GW, including PtX and battery projects.
