Amuni Srl, un véhicule spécial appartenant à Eurowind Energy, a signé un contrat de financement de projet fin décembre 2021 pour son premier portefeuille éolien en Italie.
Le portefeuille financé se compose de six éoliennes Vestas V80 d'occasion. Les éoliennes ont été installées dans les municipalités de Mazara del Vallo, Marsala, Salemi, Caltavuturo et Sclafani Bagni, dans les provinces de Trapani et de Palerme, en Sicile.
Les six projets individuels ont été développés à partir de zéro par Eurowind Energy avec le soutien de Coolbine, un partenaire clé de l'entreprise en Sicile. Cinq des projets ont obtenu un tarif d'achat selon le décret législatif italien du 04/07/2019, tandis qu'un sixième projet a dû commencer la construction avant la première enchère et vendra donc l'électricité sur le marché sans incitations. Étant donné que quatre des projets ont obtenu un tarif d'achat lors de la toute première enchère et compte tenu des différentes prolongations de délai pour démarrer l'exploitation en raison de la pandémie de COVID-19, ces projets sont toujours éligibles pour bénéficier du tarif d'achat selon le décret législatif italien précédent du 23/06/2016.
Alors que certains travaux de construction ont commencé en novembre 2019 pour le projet sans incitations, les principaux travaux de construction n'ont réellement commencé qu'en août 2020 pour tous les projets et ont été progressivement terminés jusqu'en avril 2021. Selon l'entreprise, la principale raison de la longue période jusqu'à ce que les travaux logistiques et de construction puissent enfin démarrer était liée aux difficultés extrêmes à obtenir des permis pour le transport des composants des éoliennes en Sicile, pour lesquels plusieurs routes ont dû être ajustées.
Malgré le fait que toutes les éoliennes soient déjà érigées depuis le printemps dernier, elles attendent depuis lors d'être connectées au réseau par E-Distribuzione et devraient être pleinement mises en service et commencer à fonctionner au deuxième trimestre de 2022.
Les six éoliennes devraient produire un total de 21 GWh par an, fournissant de l'électricité verte à environ 7400 foyers, tout en évitant l'émission de 8400 tonnes de CO2 par an.
Le PDG d'Eurowind Energy, Jens Rasmussen, a déclaré :
"C'est notre première initiative de développement en Italie. Normalement, nous n'investissons pas dans de tels petits projets éoliens, mais nous avions 30 unités de turbines V80 en stock et nous voulions les déployer rapidement. Tout le processus jusqu'à la fin de la construction s'est avéré beaucoup plus long que prévu, mais je suis heureux que nous ayons signé ce financement avant la fin de l'année et nous sommes maintenant proches de commencer à produire nos premiers kWh d'énergie en Italie."
Pedro Pereira, directeur général pour le sud de l'Europe, a également commenté :
"Le développement de ce portefeuille remonte à mai 2017. Nous avons rencontré de nombreux défis tout au long du chemin, depuis la phase de développement, notamment le processus de permis, jusqu'à la logistique, la construction et, plus récemment, la connexion au réseau. Mais, avec l'aide de nos partenaires, nous avons pu surmonter tous les obstacles jusqu'à présent et je suis convaincu que nous commencerons bientôt à exploiter ces éoliennes."

The portfolio consists of six wind turbines totaling 6MW and construction finished in the spring of 2021. The wind turbines are located in Sicily.
Amuni Srl, a Special Purpose Vehicle belonging to Eurowind Energy, has signed a project finance contract at the end of December 2021 for its first wind portfolio in Italy.
The financed portfolio consists of six pre-owned Vestas V80 wind turbines. The wind turbines were installed in the municipalities of Mazara del Vallo, Marsala, Salemi, Caltavuturo and Sclafani Bagni, in the provinces of Trapani and Palermo, in Sicily.
The six individual projects were developed from scratch by Eurowind Energy with the support of Coolbine, a key partner of the company in Sicily. Five of the projects obtained a feed in tariff under the Italian DL of 04/07/2019, while a sixth project had to start construction prior to the first auction and therefore will sell the power in the market without any incentives. Since four of the projects obtained a feed in tariff in the very first auction and given the different deadline extensions to start operation due to the COVID19 pandemic, these projects are still eligible to be awarded the feed in tariff from the previous Italian DL of 23/06/2016.
While some construction works began in November 2019 for the project without incentives, main construction works only started in August 2020 for all the projects and were gradually finished until April 2021. According to the company, the main reason for the long period until logistic and construction works could finally take off was related to the extreme difficulties in obtaining permits for the transportation of the turbine components in Sicily, for which several roads had to be adjusted.
Despite the fact that all the turbines have been erected since the last spring already, they have been since then waiting for connection to the grid by E-Distribuzione and are expected to be fully commissioned and start operation in the second quarter of 2022.
The six turbines are anticipated to produce a total of 21 GWh per year, providing approximately 7400 households with green electricity, while avoiding the emission of 8400 tons of CO2 per year.
Eurowind Energy’s CEO, Jens Rasmussen, said:
“This has been our first development initiative in Italy. Normally we don’t invest in such small wind projects but we had 30 units of V80 turbines in our inventory and we wanted to deploy them fast. The whole turnout until construction end turned out to be quite longer than we expected, but I’m glad we signed this financing before the year end and we are now close to start producing our first kWh of energy in Italy.”
